Aside from music, I recently pursued acting with my first job being flown out to LA for a commercial and photoshoot in May of 2017. It all started February 6th when I met one of my favorite actors – Norman Reedus. He told me, “Surround yourself with people like you… doing what you want to do and successful at it”. Several days later during a layover in Atlanta, I met an actress who told me the first step she took was acting classes and building a reel; samples of your work pieced together into a short 60 sec video.
When I returned home, by freak chance I found a NY acting coach teaching one day a week in Baltimore. Within two and a half months I was already filming my first television spot as a detective. I was hooked! I love the camera as much as I love the stage. I also love the people I’ve met… people just like me. (Shout out to Darien Rothchild for being my biggest support… get his autograph now while you can).
To this day I have been in 3 commercials, 5 television shows including House of Cards, and 3 independent films; all within less than 2 years. I’ve moved onto more professional training taking specialized classes in technique and hope to eventually get an agent in 2019.
I know none of this will happen overnight, but I will continue to plug away… step by step until my goals are reached.
